My love affair with music began on the drums, which my father played and went into business with in the 1990s. I played throughout middle school, both in the jazz band an recreationally at home. I dove deep into drumming and studied the greats: John Bonham of Led Zeppelin, Richie Hayward of Little Feat, Charlie Watts of The Rolling Stones-- the list goes on. Soon enough, I had graduated to acoustic guitar, which my brother played. Using my ear and the internet, I began to decipher how to play songs by John Mayer, Van Morrison and Chris Stapleton. By the end of high school, I was honing my skills on both electric and bass guitars, all while expanding my musical scope into hip-hop, soul, and alternative music.
By the time I began attending the University of Connecticut in fall 2019, I began to take songwriting and creating original music very seriously. I began to delve deep into the singer-songwriter world, taking notes from history's most prominent storytellers. Namely, my hero of focus became Tom Petty, and his catalog became all I listened to. Songs like "American Girl" and "Even the Losers" became anthems to me. Most importantly, they helped me learn what a good song was and how to design my own songcraft. Naturally, I also felt closer to other singer-songwriters of the same stature; Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan and Jackson Browne all became part of my regular rotation. I also ventured into bands that had a distinct singer-songwriter quality to them, bands with personal lyrics and emotional delivery, like Matchbox Twenty, The Wallflowers, and Counting Crows.
Once I returned home for what would end up being almost two full years due to COVID-19, I launched headfirst into the world of songwriting and performance. I started my own YouTube channel and posted cover songs where I perform full band covers of classic songs like "Beast of Burden" by The Rolling Stones or "Don't Let Me Down" by The Beatles, splicing together film of me playing all of the instruments. It was also during this time that I began writing my own songs, and over the course of the last few years, I have built up a catalog of my own original songs that are worthy of being heard (you can find them on this site, and on my YouTube channel.)
Ever since then, I have been performing around Fairfield County, CT and New York at restaurants, bars, pubs, and cafes-- pretty much anywhere that will have me. Having graduated college with a Bachelor's degree in Communications, I am looking for a way to merge my degree with music, the thing that I love the most. It is my passion, and it is my dream to be able to continue working with it for my career, whatever path it may be. The goal of this project is to show my passion and show what I can do, both as a performer and a general music lover. I am truly excited and hopeful to see where my love for music and everything around it will take me.
